Has HOSA had any recent accomplishments?
Some accomplishments our HOSA team as a whole has done are having the majority of the students who attended RLC, HOSA’s regional leadership conference, place in the top 3! We all studied so hard for it and we enjoyed the entire experience of being around so many other students interest in the medical field (and we got to skip school!) Some accomplishments we are looking forward to are getting CPR and basic first aid certified, and hosting Alston Ridge Middle School’s very first blood drive (this isn’t finalized yet).

What is the mission of your club?
We want to spread, the word for kids to know about medical things and to be educated about these sort of things. So they'll know and they know they don't need another person, we train for CPR, we train for a lot of emergency things so that we can all be prepared.
What events do you go to?
It's SLC, state Leadership Conference, so we elect people and then you can just do whatever if you have some testing to do, you can test. And there's a lot of events you can picka mathematical, that's what I'm doing. CPR, nutritionalism, things like that.. and, yeah, that's pretty much all. We get to go to a lot of places.

What does HOSA stand for?
Hosa stands for Future Health Professionals, but it was previously known as Health Occupations Students of America.
What is HOSA?
HOSA is a competitive academic club for middle or high schoolers interested in the medical field.
What benefits do you get from HOSA?
Doing HOSA in Alston Ridge will increase your chances of getting into the high school team. HOSA teaches competitive skills. You will learn life skills like CPR.
